Brainerd Lakes live entertainment Memorial Day weekend

Posted on: May 21st, 2012 by Brainerd Lakes Chamber

Kick off your summer in the Brainerd Lakes with live music or comedy this Memorial Day weekend. Nothing sets the tone for a summer of fun like an opportunity to come together with friends to enjoy live music or allow yourself to laugh with a comedy show.

Here are a two great examples of what’s in store this weekend:

  • G.B. Leighton: Look for a patio show at 1 p.m. and an indoor stage show at 9 p.m., Saturday, May 26, at Manhattan’s at Manhattan Beach Lodge. G.B. Leighton, based in the Twin Cities, is a six-piece band named for Brian Leighton that has played throughout the Midwest for more than a decade.
  • Tim Cavanagh: Look for live comedy during nightly shows at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 25-26, at Pine Peaks Event Center in Crosslake. Cavanagh is a regular on the nationally syndicated “Bob and Tom” radio show and has been featured on “Comedy Central.”

Of course, these aren’t the only two options in the Brainerd region this weekend. BIR will host the Fourth Annual Street Car Showdown, which includes the first race in the Muscle Car Series, the SCCA Harvey West Classic, and new this year, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.
