Brainerd Lakes Area Fishing Report Jan. 30, 2014

Posted on: February 3rd, 2014 by Brainerd Lakes Chamber

Walleyes have been deeper, 25-35 feet seems to be the best this week. Jigging spoons with a minnow head have been the best for me, but always keep a setline nearby. I’m a firm believer that both work well together.

Crappies and sunfish are in the same holding pattern, and jigging with a wax worm seems the best. However it helps to have a live crappie minnows suspended by bobbers these will capture the big ones!

I just got off Gull Lake, and driving conditions where a little rough. I did some pretty tricky driving to move one of my rentals today. There are a bunch of plowed roads, but they have been drifting over. Driving off the plowed roads seems easier right now.

Good Luck and be safe!

Thanks, Capt. Tim Hanske
