Brainerd Lakes Area Fishing Report

Posted on: February 25th, 2014 by Brainerd Lakes Chamber

My rentals have been finding a few walleyes on Gull Lake in 20-25 feet of water. Setlines have been the best, and it seems that evening and early mornings have been the best. Smaller minnows with smaller jigs have been the key.

Crappies and sunfish have been in the deeper basins of most lakes. Jigging with a Vexilar has been a must, because these fish are suspended, and you need to see where the fish are at in the water.

Good Luck and be safe!

Thanks, Capt. Tim Hanske
