Brainerd Lakes Area Fishing Report, June 10, 2014

Posted on: June 12th, 2014 by Brainerd Lakes Chamber

The walleye bite picked up last week on Brainerd area lakes with some very good days and it continues into this week so far. 10-16 feet of water has been the most productive. A jig and a fathead worked on the weedlines or a Lindy Rig with a crawler or minnow seem to be the best. Fish seem to be transitioning well into their early summer spots as the water temps are between 65 and 72 degrees.

The bass bite has been good. Flipping a rubber worm over the weeds and working it back slow has been productive. Under 10 feet of water has been best for me.

Pike are active in the shallow weed beds. Casting spinner baits, dare devils or even live bait at them has been working well.

We did make several trips to Mille Lacs this week and the smallmouth bite was going very strong and a lot of fun. The walleye bite was OK but improving daily. They fish were just starting to bite on the mud flats. Rigging a crawler seemed to be the best.

Good luck,
