Fishing Report 7/6/15

The first week of July kicked off with nice weather and good walleye fishing, including a good number of walleyes over 20 inches that were thrown back. After a slow last couple of weeks in June the walleye bite has finally started to pick up and has been the best we have seen yet this year. We are finding the fish shallower than normal for this time of year. Look anywhere from 8-13 FOW with weeds and rock close by and check the inside edge of the weedline. Leeches are the preferred bait and taking all of our fish right now but some are doing well with crawlers as well. Bass are biting in the cabbage. Look at the inside and outside edge depending on the day. Mid lake humps are holding fish. A rubber Berkley Powerworm had been working well. There are also some big gills biting right now over the top of the cabbage. We have seen many big bulls this week. All in all it was a great week to be on the water and hopefully only continues to pick up. If your interested in getting out on the water with us give us a ring at 218-839-5598 or visit us at www.walleyedan.com.

Good Luck,

Nick Miltimore
