Business After Hours

Promote your products or services at your location or off-site at this casual after hours networking event. You provide the hors d’oeuvres and beverages; attendees attend at no charge. Chamber Ambassadors volunteer to help host the event. Attendance: 40 – 200 people
Sponsor fee: $150 per event

Sponsor benefits:

  • Attendees learn about and tour your business.
  • Chamber Ambassadors coordinate registration, greet people as they arrive, and host tours of your facility.
  • You share your message at 5:30 p.m. and often have a drawing for prizes (must be present to win).
  • Promotional exposure is provided through the Chamber Connection, E-Connection, press release to area media, Chamber message board, and at the event.

Business Expo & Holiday Extravaganza

Celebrate the holiday season with fellow Chamber members amidst spectacular holiday decor. Network with hundreds of your business neighbors while visiting sixty Chamber member exhibits. Hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, and silent auction. Held December 11, 2008 at Madden’s Resort Town Hall from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m., free to members (not available to non-members). Attendance: Up to 500 people

Booth fee: $175 per booth

Booth benefits:

  • Promote your products or services to a captive audience of members.
  • Only 60 booths available.
  • Your business is listed on the invitation and promoted in the Chamber newsletter and on the web site.
  • Many businesses also purchase hors d’oeuvres to serve at your booth to attract attendees.

CHOW Time Lunch

A member lunch event with “shameless self promotion” for the attendees and sponsor. The host provides the lunch (at your location or off-site) and receives the revenue. The Chamber coordinates the event logistics and reservations. Attendees are invited to donate door prizes. CHOW Times are held monthly. Fee to attend: $5 in advance or $7 at the door; not available to non-members. Attendance: 25-100 people

Eggs ‘n Issues Legislative Breakfast

Join our area legislators for a lively discussion about issues impacting business. Hear what is happening at the Capitol, share comments in a structured but comfortable meeting environment. Attendees inform the facilitator about the issues they want to discuss, and then the legislators respond to questions or comments, as well as share their priorities on behalf of their District. Held two to three times per year at the Bonanza Restaurant in Baxter from 7:30 – 9 a.m. for $8 per person (not available to non-members). Attendance: 30-80 people

Sponsor fee: $300 for all events

Golf Tournament

More Information & Registration | Lunch Sponsorship

Participate in the lakes area’s premier golf event and raise funds for the Chamber operations. The event starts with lunch on the patio, then golf, followed by a social hour and dinner. Everyone golfing is entered into a drawing for almost $5,000 in prizes. Guests are welcome to attend the dinner for an additional fee.

Held in August at the Legacy Courses at Cragun’s for up to 72 teams of five people and 36 Business on the Tee options. The golf fee to participate: $700 per team or $140 per individual (not available to non-members). Attendance: over 275 people

Main Event Sponsor fee: $2,500
Main Event Sponsor benefits:

  • Display of your signage throughout the tournament
  • All promotional materials carry your name and logo
  • Dinner tickets to the evening banquet
  • Two Business on the Tee sites
  • Two golf carts available for your use during the event to travel the course and visit with participants
  • Opportunity to welcome attendees during the program

Hospitality Socials

The event features a presentation about a topic important to the hospitality industry, updates about Chamber destination marketing, and hors d’oeuvres and refreshments provided by the host business. Held in the fall and spring from 4:30-6:30 p.m. for hospitality members, at no charge (not available to non-members). Attendance 20-40 people.

Sponsor fee: No charge, however you must be a hospitality business.
Sponsor benefits: Attendees visit your business and learn about your operation.

The Lakes Area Young Professionals group links people, ages 21 to 35, by offering educational programs and networking opportunities in order to enhance professional skills and create a sense of belonging within the business community. Educational and networking events are held every other month. Fee to join LAYP: $35 per year (does not include fee for monthly events) Attendance: 25-75 people

Bean Hole Days in Pequot Lakes

This nationally recognized July event starts with burying pots of beans and cooking them over a wood fire for 24 hours at the Chamber’s Trailside Center in Pequot Lakes. The delicious beans are served to several thousand attendees, along with a bun and lemonade. An arts & crafts show accompanies the event. Attendance at Bean Hole Days is 2,500.

Sponsor fee: Ranges from $50 - $2,500 to support the activities during this celebration

Candidate Forums

Details | Contact

Candidate forums are held in October for school board, city, county, and state races. The events are sponsored by the Chamber, League of Women Voters, and AAUW. Forums are typically recorded and broadcast on local access cable channels.

Media sponsors are needed to promote the candidate forums and the rebroadcast schedule. (See Voter’s Guide for more details).

Crosslake Days

This nine-day family celebration in August features a variety of different activities including the famous Crosslake Chili Cook-off, with free chili served throughout the community at various businesses. Crosslake area businesses offer specials and host fun events throughout the week. About 1,000 participate in the Chili Cook-off.

Crosslake Fireworks

The City of Crosslake along with the Brainerd Lakes Chamber have put a show together a fireworks show that is going to be better than ever this year! After dusk, approximately 10p.m. a phenomenal display will ignite over Sand Island on Cross Lake. Start your Independence Day celebrations off with a bang and enjoy all that Crosslake has to offer before and after the show.

The Stars & Stripes Days takes place July 3 & 4 in Pequot Lakes  featuring a parade, fireworks, and fun family events. The July 4th parade and celebration crowd is estimated at 10,000 people. Chamber members may participate in the parade at no charge; non-members $100 per entry.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in Crosslake

Voters Guide

Candidates running for key races are surveyed and photographed. Their answers are published in this informative voter’s guide and distributed to all Chamber members, and throughout the lakes area at convenience stores and other high-traffic locations. The publication is printed and distributed in October. The Guide is also featured on the Chamber web site.

This breakfast seminar series consists of programs offered from March to May to provide employees of Chamber-member firms with an opportunity to enhance their skills through cost-effective training. Topics for programming are developed by member input and are held the second Thursday of the month from 7:30-8:45 a.m. for $10 per person. Attendance: 20-50 people per session

Leadership the Lakes Area

Now in its 10th year, Leadership the Lakes Area, is a premiere training program for individuals that want to enhance their leadership and connect with the community. This is an eight-month program, with classes held one day per month, and one two-day retreat.

Fee to participate: $895 per person (includes all training materials, meals, overnight, etc.)
Sponsor opportunities include full or partial scholarships for participants, sponsoring lunch for $150 and sharing information about your business and distributing promotional materials.
