On September 2, 1999, the general membership of the Crosslake Chamber approved a merger with the Brainerd Lakes Area Chambers of Commerce by casting ballots, with 86% of those voting in favor of the merger. Chuck Albrecht, (then Chair of the Chamber Board and Senior Vice President of Lakewood Bank), stated “There was a great deal of enthusiasm about the merger at the Crosslake meeting. The merged organization will continue to support community events and maintain a strong presence in Crosslake. We’re looking forward to a long term relationship.”
