Support for the arts is grounded in the identity of the Brainerd Lakes Area. Along side the bountiful natural resources, the region is full of art festivals, galleries, musical and theatrical events and art organizations ready to share their love of the arts. For detailed information on upcoming arts or cultural events, visit our calendar of events.

Visual artists share their work at galleries, as well as at special art festivals and shows, such as Brainerd’s famous Arts in the Park event in July.

Musicians perform at grassroots concerts, live jams at area coffee shops and traditional concerts. The Heartland Symphony Orchestra, our community orchestra, even hosts three classical music concerts each year.
Theatrical performances range from community theater to Central Lakes College Theatre to the Greater Lakes Performing Arts organization, each attracting visitors from all over the state.

To further encourage self-expression, the Crossing Arts Alliance was formed to enhance cultural and art opportunities in the Brainerd Lakes Area. They offer dozens of hands-on activities, many of which are especially geared for kids.
