The Brainerd Lakes Area offers a wide variety of parks and forests, as well as great swimming beaches, tennis courts and trails perfect for hiking, biking and rollerblading. Fishing and hunting are among the most favorite outdoor activities, as well. There are so many options, you may never sit still!

See our landscape from a different point of view – try horseback riding and scuba diving to experience each perspective. Grab your binoculars and catch a glimpse of dozens of colorful (and musical) birds. Rent any type of water toys you can imagine – ski boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, kayaks or canoes, to mention a few. (There is a public boat access to virtually every lake!)

Being outside can be educational, too. Visit an area nature center such as the Northland Arboretum or the Paul Bunyan Nature Learning Center to learn more about our unique land and wildlife.
